In the near future, honey bees are nearly extinct. The Beekeeper, a celebrity-like politician, is in control of what he believes to be the last controlled colony of bees in the country. Organic food has become a delicacy, so rare that only the highest on the social hierarchy have access to it. These people live in "The Hive", a blanket term referring to the Megapolis that The Beekeeper lives in and dictates, as well as the military group that is controlled by him.

Now imagine you are living as a blue-collar worker in one of the cities that branch off of The Hive. Every day you find yourself in the middle of a high-tension conflict. A military organization trying to control your life is at a constant cold war with citizens planning a rebellion. Do you risk your life to become free? Or join The Hive in hopes of safety? For Christof Ryder, our lens for the story, the choice seems clear. Neither.
